Vaccinations

Students

All students who will be in-person on UConn’s campuses during the fall 2021 semester are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The goal of this policy is to help safeguard health and wellness on our campuses and in our communities by reducing the risk that the virus will be transmitted and cause illness, particularly in high-density congregant settings such as residence halls, dining halls, and classrooms.

Need a vaccine?

Vaccines are widely available, and we urge our students to be vaccinated over the summer if you have not already done so. UConn will also make vaccines available to new and returning students who were unable to be completely vaccinated prior to arriving on our campuses in the fall, so they can be vaccinated upon arrival. These students will need to follow a modified quarantine until they are considered fully vaccinated. Students are able to apply for exemptions, including for medical and other reasons.

Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) is providing COVID-19 vaccines by appointment to our Storrs-based graduate and undergraduate students. To view the schedule and secure a dose, visit the SHaW patient portal. All enrolled students living in Connecticut, including regional campus students, are eligible to be vaccinated in Connecticut. The vaccine is free, even without insurance and without ID — no one will be turned away.

International students may find details on vaccination and other requirements on the International Student & Scholar Services website.

Faculty and Staff

UConn is following the State of Connecticut’s vaccination program, and vaccines are offered to UConn employees as a voluntary option to promote personal health and the health of our campuses. View the latest information on the HR Employee COVID Vaccine page.

Visit the Human Resources website for the latest COVID-19-related information, including FAQs, employee vaccination and testing information, telecommuting information, travel restrictions, and well-being resources.
